SMALL BUSINESS CONTRIBUTES IN BIG WAYS TO COMMUNITY
PEORIA, Ariz. – Principal and Designated Broker, Shelley L. Bade, made a new year’s resolution when she opened SL Bade & Associates, LLC in January 2007 to contribute to the community year-round. The startup commercial real estate and consulting services firm stayed true to its promise and generously contributed more than $90,000 in its first year of business to charities, organizations, sporting and entertainment venues.
Now as a new year begins, SL Bade & Associates, LLC renews its resolution to take a proactive role in the community in 2008. “It is great to be part of a small office that is yet so dynamic in the community,” acknowledged Carrie Bailes, director of business development at SL Bade & Associates, LLC. “We would definitely like to continue our streak of being known as big contributors to the community.”
A 14-year resident of Peoria and formerly a 10-year resident of Glendale, Bade’s passion for small businesses keeps her doubly devoted to the Peoria Chamber of Commerce and Glendale Chamber of Commerce. “Both the Peoria and Glendale Chambers are conduits that help us stay ‘in the know,’ and their commitment to improving the business climate is the best,” Bade affirmed.
Bade will share insights into her successes, challenges and growth strategies when SL Bade & Associates, LLC acts as the sponsor of the Peoria Chamber of Commerce’s February 2008 membership luncheon. Joining her as guest speakers are financial advisors from the Business Strategies Group at Professional Planning Associates, as well as a senior relocation specialist from Complete Organizational Services, LLC.
Business Strategies Group’s pension specialist, Alex Walsh said, “Shelley realizes how important small businesses are in the heart of the Valley. Our presentation offers small business employers, with less than 20 employees, advice about acquiring affordable benefits, such as health insurance and retirement programs.”
Guest speaker Brenda Scagnetti-Clement, senior relocation specialist at Complete Organizational Services, LLC, treats Chamber members to tips on organizing stress-free office moves. In January 2008, Scagnetti-Clement applies her moving-savvy skills to relocating the SL Bade & Associates’ offices to the Citadelle, a Stephen’s Land Company development in Glendale, when they take the helm as leasing company for the center.
Members of the Peoria Chamber of Commerce and the public are invited to partake in the $20 luncheon from 11:00 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Feb. 13, 2008. This event marks the first Peoria Chamber luncheon to be hosted in the Lakeview Room of the Rio Vista Recreation Center located at 8666 W. Thunderbird Road in Peoria. Attendees find Bade’s ticket giveaways to the company’s suites at US Airways and Jobing.com always make her hosting of events a winner. Reservations are requested by Feb. 6, call the Peoria Chamber of Commerce at (623) 979-3601.
“I find Shelley’s enthusiasm to be contagious,” said Michelle Bishop, business manager at SL Bade & Associates LLC. “I truly admire her dedication and work ethic. She really cares about the community she lives and works in.”
One of SL Bade & Associates’ hottest 2007 donations went to the Peoria Firefighters Charities, which sparked an invitation for Bade to ride along with the Peoria Fire Department. “I spent a day in their shoes going on calls to aid victims, understanding how the department works from the top down, practicing life-safety drills, and offering community support and awareness,” Bade recalled. “Captain Danny Comella and the rest of the battalion rolled out the red carpet for me. It was a most incredible day.”
That red-carpet treatment continues with SL Bade & Associates, LLC acting as a Silver Sponsor of “The Sweetest of Nights: A Cabaret Gala” benefiting Theater Works on Jan. 26, 2008. Fundraiser coordinator of the Theater Works event, Sue Tormala said, “Shelley (a board member of Theater Works) is very wonderful to work with – a great contributor and supporter of organizations in the West Valley, such as Theater Works. She also sponsored the ‘Takin’ It to the Streets,’ another fall fundraiser for Theater Works, and looked fabulous dressed as a ‘50s sock-hop girl.” Call the Theater Works box office at (623) 815-7930 for individual tickets priced at $150 to “The Sweetest of Nights” black-tie event featuring Broadway actress and cabaret singer, Karen Mason.
Bade intends to continue making more notable contributions to the community in 2008 through event sponsorships and donations.
